Dear Singaporean Parents, if your child is born next year, he or she will be entitled to a special Jubilee Baby Gift to mark the Nation’s 50th years of independence.

This special keepsake will be “a uniquely-Singaporean keepsake filled with practical yet symbolic items for our Golden Jubilee babies”, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Grace Fu.

We are glad that the choice is open to us, Singaporean. We can visit the various booths across the island to contribute our ideas. The first two feedback booths will be located at Jurong Point (April 5-6) and at VivoCity (April 12-13). You can also submit your ideas here.

My pick will be a gold/silver plated brooth with a symbol of the flag and the different people of Singapore. Now, won’t that attract our young parents to give birth to more babies? We might have a baby boom in 2015!
